The Bee Catcher

Japie collects bees - he is a pollinator for the local berry farms and needs the help of these little creatures to do the job.

Every year a young swarm finds its way into the base of the bird bath in our garden .. no problem, until they start stinging the children and garden worker ....

That is where Japie comes into the picture.

He handles the swarm in a loving and knowledgeable way and obviously knows the ins and outs about the bees. He will leave the wooden box for a day or two, until all the bees have settled into the box; then collects it and nurtures them with sugar water and honey till they are grown and strong. Then he takes them out to the berry farms ...
