In search of a tarn

Having moved to the Lakes I thought it time I sought out a lake. Got out the OS map to search for my nearest tarns which appeared to be about a mile or so west, in some open access land (which means you can wander where you like).  There were three patches of water. This one is disappointingly un-named ( it just says pond on a large scale map) . The largest of the 3 was Knipe Tarn but it had a hotel on one side and we failed to find the open access entrance. Not the most picturesque tarn but the best I could do on my walk this afternoon. Big progress on the communications front. We now have broadband throughout the house and a landline.
