Afternoon tea

...., at Bs house after school today. They’ve just finished their beautiful new sunroom extension and it was finally ready enough to enjoy the garden again. Though not until Katie had spent a happy time charging round the full circle that now exists between the kitchen and the lounge. Katie & T teased other with locking the doors and hiding, laughing away.

After hot cross buns (bought to treat Katie as B knows she loves them), she had some funsies music time. B had promised she could try the bassoon again. She’s still not big enough to start properly but enjoyed a play of left-hand only pieces again. I think it could be another year still before her arms are long enough. She had fun though and didn’t want to stop. She did stop though and spent some time working on her clarinet audition pieces. It looked like she might wobble at one point but she pulled it together and worked well on her second piece. B suggested packing up but Katie had decided she wanted to play more clarinet. So they did some sight reading and just “messed around” for a while. I loved seeing Katie just enjoy her clarinet. We’d had two brilliant music practices this morning, so add this time in tonight and she’s worked so hard today.
