Elter Water

Great day wandering around the South Lakes with friends. We started the day with a trip around the head of Coniston Water, on the SY Gondola.
We called in to Chesters at Skelwith Bridge for lunch then ambled up to Elterwater past Skelwith Force and then around the tarn to the Britannia Hotel for some refreshment before retracing our steps. We had another beautifully warm day.
This is Elterwater Tarn, as near perfect a shot as I could wish.
The extras are of the steam yacht Gondola and some stone sculptures by Skelwith Force. There is also a man there in full wetsuit - complete with flippers, gloves, face mask and snorkel getting ready to go into the water... Not sure why and we didn't have time to hang around for long enough to find out!
