Sands of Sound

Lerwick does have its own special beach at the Sands of Sound. During school holidays and weekends it can be very busy - that's by Shetland standards of course. Quite out of the way so most of the tourists are not aware of it.
Plenty of Oystercatchers (extra) along the shoreline leading away from the beach.
