Sgwarnog: In the Field

Soldier

I'd been trying to get a good picture of one of the Adela reaumurella 'longhorn' moths (extra) when this soldier beetle, probably Catharsis pellucida, photobombed.

I'd had a quick lunchtime walk down to Tong Park and Spring Wood to freshen me up for another afternoon of document writing. There was a nice moth too, a new one for me: Eulia ministrana (extra). Not many butterflies, but a smattering of Peacock, Comma, Orange-tip, Speckled Wood, Small Tortoiseshell, Green-veined White, Small White & Large White. Earlier there had been Holly Blue in the community garden and the graveyard, and a nice Large Red Damselfy (extra).
