Painting the Horses
Cynthia, my church going buddy, and I went to a different church today, Eglise Notre-Dame to be exact. We were about 20 minutes late. It was Cynthia's first time going there so I waited for her so that she wouldn't get lost trying to find it. Notre-Dame is a nice church to be in physically because it is heated unlike the St. Michel Basilica or the St. André Cathedral. After church we walked around Bordeaux and then decided to go to St. Michel (a second time in a row for me). However, we barely missed the tram. To kill time though, we just went to check out La Gironde monument right past the tram tracks.
As we were coming up to the monument, there was a lady who was painting the fountain of horses and warriors. I thought she was pretty neat so I took several photos of her. Here you see my favorite picture of her.
The next tram arrived and we weren't about to miss it. We were still at the monument, so we ran back to the tram station. The passengers were just descending the tram as we came to the dock. Luckily, we did not miss it. Once we got to St. Michel, they had a flea market (marche aux puces) there instead. They had all sort of knick knacks - vintage, old, worn out, and some rather new items such as a DVD player. It was neat to see all the things that people were selling. Someone was also trying to get rid of their dilapidated bicycle.
