A Leg to Stand On

I managed the whole of our Wetlands Bird Survey this morning - the first time for about a year now. Up at 5:30 am. 4.2 miles walked. We saw some nice birds - 3+ Herons, a couple of Common Sandpipers, a Great Crested Grebe, a great Spotted Woodpecker and a Bullfinch to name but a few. Only 3 Mandarin Ducks today. In Winter their numbers swell to 30+ but at this time of year they seem to disperse.
