Mount Pond: Blue-tailed Damselfly
More colourful (even than the Cayuga?) in large.
Alternatives: Cayuga striding and Cayuga preening shapes
I went to see if the Cayuga was (still) around: it was AND it was (unusually) out on the boardwalk (duckboard?). I spent some time with it, and enough time to receive suspicious (deliberately-loud-enough-to-be-overheard) passive-aggressive remarks from the people at the caff; why so threatened?
Anyway, I couldn't choose a Cayuga pic, (it did shaking, preening, posing, peering, striding, Pilates, flapping, and resting...) so was relieved to have spotted this damselfly before finding the Cayuga. I was particularly tickled by the Cayuga's preening shapes (series right from here) and some of the shaking shots...
Others (of the Cayuga) on Flickr here (or right from the damselfly).
