Evidence Of Children

More of a continuing series.


Spent a bit of the day watching the car crash that was the Landscape Photographer Of The Year competition. Seem that the winner was outed as having breached the rules by using such demonic practices as cloning. fair enough this was against the rules but the lengths that two prominent landscape bloggers went to prove that the man was "cheating" was incredible. Trigonometry, google earth, sun tables compared with exif data, no stone was left unturned in the name of fairness and crucifixion. These two bloggers then had the temerity to remove the man's name from their blog and start calling him David X (except one had used his photo on the blog and had to keep his real name as a photo credit.... couldn't make this up!!) and call for calm in the torch wielding and witch burning. It was a real eye opener, not once did they talk about images, it was all about kit and processing. I hope these people (especially the two prominent bloggers) are proud of themselves. Children.

I'm guessing it's better to leave the postcarders to it and mix more with photographers.


Talking of which it waas great to see an old blip mate Kati getting the staff pick this week. It's an extraordinary image, one that I reckon would sit comfortably in anybodies art collection. I'm sure the postcarders would have a different opinion ;)
