The first moonflower bloom

I thought I would have the first bloom on the moonflower bush yesterday but it decided to hold out until today.  My favorite of all the flowers that I grow..and so very easy to grow.  Apparently the birds like to spread the seeds as I have several plants coming up in unexpected places not counting the ones that I started in a pot!   

The first photo was early this morning the green tipped flower emerged from the pod covering it..then the rest were taken around 7:30 pm..as the flower opened.    I love how the color changes to pale lavender and white!  And those little hooks just let go when the time is right for the flower to open!  

Nature is so amazing!
