Lago di Liscia & Sant'Antonio di Gallura

The bike mechanic said, "When your holiday starts badly, it's the sign of a good trip ahead." Well, we've been lucky once more. No wet gear in sight despite more showers and a deluge.

We had a much less windy ride today in pleasant temperatures all the way up to a beautiful lake and then a little higher to a rustic hilltop village, Sant'Antonio di Gallura.

In the piazza cafe were some lovely retired Italians who were asking about our bikes. We swapped a variety of French/Italian/English mixed phrases and lots of smiles. Then another man came along with eight inches of wet trouser bottoms and two big paper bag. Out of them, he proudly showed his friends, 'Funghi, funghi!'

'Esperto', his buddies said. Those green and red fellas looked a little dubious to me but these guys were over the moon and already had differing plans to eat them; one guy cold, with oil and salt and the other hot with lasagne or spaghetti.

We're getting quite into our coffee stops and people watching. So much so, we detoured to our old favourite at Arzachena on the way home after a fabulous descent out of the hills.

The rain came down moments after we arrived back. We've filled the afternoon with mooching, eating, supermarket and more feeding.

Hoping for a proper good weather day tomorrow and a slightly longer ride.  Oh, and a couple of new coffee shops :))
