Gently down the stream

Hawthorn bloss..

Crataegus monogyna

Today my sis and I had lunch at Exton in the Meon Valley, then climbed up Old Winchester Hill.  Round here right now the hills and lanes are a cloud of white, with all the hawthorn and (what I was brought up to call cow parsley, but now think must be) hedge parsley or chervil.  Quite stunning.  And of course the larks are nesting in the grass and in fine voice.  Hot, tiring and very very peaceful.

So that's the end of a fun weekend.  Hope Monday treats your kindly  xx
