Korsør Coastal Battery

We had a quiet morning at home and then at about noon, I took the boys to the training field in the woods and we did some training. It was warm but not too warm. We kept it 'short but sweet' though and each of the boys only did about 20 mins.

I then wanted to go somewhere nice for our Sunday walk. We ended up in Korsør and had a lovely walk looking at all the boats and also the old fortress.

Korsør Castle and the fortress was built in 1300 and was used by the king, when he was travelling around Denmark and had to wait for the ferry to Fyn (the island in the middle of Denmark).

Nowadays we don't travel by ferry to go to Fyn. The Great Belt Bridge has been open to trains since 1997 and to cars since 1998.

The boys are posing with one of the old cannons and you can see the Great Belt Bridge in the background. I know Heidi will recognize this bridge, when she sees my blip. She has blipped it before :-)
