Reeds and snails

H. and I had a short walk along the canal towpath close to where she occasionally works. She had a special class today so I both delivered and picked her up again with her boxes of tricks for the students.

The sun was high at lunchtime and with a clear sky it was a perfect time to watch nature at close quarters. We walked between three locks on the old canal, some of which has yet to be renovated. I was generally snapping away at birds and classic canal scenes, but this little cameo of reeds caught my eye because of the small snails gathered together on one of the reeds.
