christmas cactus?

when my father died over 30 years ago l rescued a cactus plant from his home - it was three wispy strands and everyone said l should throw it away. it turned out to be a cactus which flowers about this time every year and reminds me of dad and home. another one (in much the same condition) flowers every easter - confused christmas cactii or what!!
