Norway Day in Portobello

May 17 is Norwegian Constitution Day, marking the date of Norwegian independence in 1814 and is celebrated by Norwegians all over the world. There is a parade in central Edinburgh every year and afterwards some Portobello residents returned home and walked along the Prom in their traditional costumes in what has become something of a local tradition for them.
