Bar/ restaurant "la Renaissance"

Excellent lunch menu, 10 euros for two courses and 12 euros for three. Almost all home cooking: the chef comes out regularly to chat to his clients.

The restaurant's name is a little curious, I suspect that it is a post-war reconstruction - Carentan was very badly damaged in June 1944.

To the far left you can just see the railway track of the Cherbourg-Paris line.  A great asset.... when the French railwaymen are not on strike.
