Retirement 'do' for Breda tonight after 40 years as a librarian. A doughty islander, started and ran the library on Sherkin Island for 22 years, when ferries were few and books came and went as best they could. One of her tales tonight was her job interview in the back of a car on the pier in Baltimore, the key to the fisherman's shed where the interviews should have been held couldn't be found.
