Mini Staycation

Went to see dad today and to have a meeting with his care home. The tables have certainly turned...all of a sudden it’s not mum and dad going to my school to talk about me and my development/health/etc etc it’s me talking about my dad and his health / well-being and yes even development!!
Dad was great. Asked when he was going home...broke my heart. Told him he had to stay where he is a bit longer. He chatted away about two cards, it transpires he was taking about polling cards! Love him. He was worrying about his vote not being counted or even registered.

Went to see mums stone....I don’t like where it is but today it looked so pretty with all the blossom over it that I knew I had to accept the location as mum told me a few days before she died that she wanted to be under a pretty tree....well it just so happens that she is, so I’m smiling.

We are now in Whitby for the night and tomorrow we head to seahouses.
