Look! I'm a candle!

One of my physiotherapy treatments is to immerse my hands in wax. I dip my hands in liquid wax 5 or 6 times each and they come out looking like this. The hot wax helps loosen the muscles and scar tissues prior to treatment. It looks mighty creepy - like something out of a Roger Corman movie or a film starring Vincent Price.

After dipping, my hands are wrapped in paper towels, stuck in plastic bags, then shoved into oven mitts for about 10 minutes. I look like a lobster or a chef with nothing to do. Once I peel the wax off my hands are incredibly soft and smooth. Quite and odd sensation, really.
