Pretty Flamingo

You don't see many of these on the Severn - but you do if you go to Slimbridge Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust in Gloucestershire.

Catching a sunny window we decided to play hookey and go and see the swans which have been arriving at Slimbridge recently. So many ducks and geese too that I was spoilt for choice along with many other photographers and families on half-term this week.

However....I have fallen in love with flamingos - I think it's their colour. There was a lot of head raising and bobbing, head-flagging and wing flapping which is all good courtship signalling, whilst others just dozed with their heads underneath their wings in the few rays of sunshine we were fortunate to have today.

Been given a bit of a run for my money today as Simon deepdiver has blipped too today. A pair of blippers!! He needs encouragement to blip but his photographs are good!
