A Spring View on Campus

I was on campus in both morning and late afternoon on this day. The morning light was glorious and I took many pretty photos. Then, in the early afternoon, a huge line of thunderstorms came through and unleashed a serious whooping on our area before moving on. Happily for me, the storm got itself out of the way before I needed to be out and about again on campus.

The light after the storm was lovely, the temperature had dropped a bit, and everything had that wet and sort of shiny look after it's been drenched with water. In some ways, conditions were even better for pictures.

There are some lovely flower beds in front of Old Main, full of tulips, snapdragons, and a few other posies tossed in. I noodled around a bit, taking photos from many angles. There were quite a few shots I liked but I think this one might be my favorite, just chock full of flowers and green trees. In the background, you may see a favorite tree: the remaining elm that stands to the left of Old Main.

May is an extraordinarily beautiful time of year around here. Everything is green, and all the flowers are blooming. (If you have a thing with pollen, though, I have to tell you: you're out of luck. Because it's EVERYwhere.) So here is a song for springtime: Ace of Base, with Life Is a Flower.
