The face in the flute

My ears have been bleeding with the incessant recorder practice that's been going on in this house over half term so today I decided to give Bella my old flute in the hope that it would distract her from the recorder. So far so good, she can get a few notes out of it, is avidly studying the finger chart and has decided that she wants to start flute lessons :) The good thing about the flute is that it's more or less impossible to get a horrible sound out of it whereas with the recorder it's more or less impossible to get a nice sound out of it! I bought the flute on a whim years ago and started to teach myself, lost interest and it's been holed away in a drawer ever since so it's nice that it's finally getting some use. I quite like the big nosed face on the flute too.
I'm feeling even yuckier today, the shivers and temperature have set in but my baby is running around making me cups of tea, covering me with blankets and trying to force feed me bananas so I'm being well looked after.
Flo cat is seeming better today, no more sickness since last night's boot episode but I did have a nice pile of dung waiting for me under the dining table this morning. As he was feeling too rotten yesterday to go outside and do his business I'll let him off just this once.
