A plant with the wow factor

The other day in our local garden centre I bumped into an old friend carrying a vivid purple plant.
 
It was a senetti.
 
So I trotted along to the plant stand and bought one.
Now you know you’ve got a plant with the wow factor when people stop and to ask the name and want to know where they can get one too.
 
So now I have it in front of our home. And it’s guaranteed to flower throughout the summer.
 
What’s not to like?
 
Later I googled it and discovered this is a completely new type of flower, the result of cross-breeding, to produce long lasting vibrant colours and senetti is the brand name.
