A beakful

It was a lovely evening, so I sat out in the garden with my cup of tea when I got home from work. 

I also had my camera with me, as I thought there might be the opportunity to capture the ever-active robin. However, it was the blackbird that ventured up close to me, with its beak full of tasty morsels.  I want to know how it manages to pick up a new worm without dropping the ones already in its beak.
