Mistreated then Rehomed

..... in the « Libearty Bear Sanctuary » see http://bearsanctuary.com/libearty-bear-sanctuary. What sad stories we heard today, after a 7 minute film, everyone in our group of 5 was weeping! Having seen the wild bears 2 days ago, these stories of baby bears kept in tiny cages for all of their following lives, really hit home. Now they live in relative freedom and with dignity, in the sanctuary which currently houses 99 bears as well as some wolves and deer (all in separate and very large enclosures). The trip was too short and I wish I had known there were photography visits where you could go up onto large viewing platforms so the fences didn’t get in the way of your shots. This photo was taken from a great distance away, as this male bear was enjoying his bath! The extra shows what happens when a bear shakes his wet head!

Home tomorrow, leaving very early, 03.50! I have to catch a connection in Munich with only 40 mins turn around! Wish me luck.
