Coin Tree

This is a coin tree - one of several to be found at Tarr Steps on Exmoor.

Thousands of coins have been hammered into the fallen tree trunk over a number of years.

It is said that if you are ill, inserting a coin will aid your recovery and if you take a coin out from the tree, then you will become ill.

I didn't have any coins on me and couldn't spare a £10 note!!

The Autumn colours are just starting to show.

After a bracing walk along the river Barle, we had a delicious light lunch at the Tarr Farm Inn - to be recommended.
