Dowitcher ~ Short or Long-Billed?

Either way this bird does not belong in this area (according to all the information I can find). He was quietly feeding this morning below the 9th hole sand trap. I saw him when I went down to get a picture of the black-crowned night heron that is in residence all year. This beauty is a new one for me. I think he is slightly off course while migrating.

It was a really nice morning for golf. I am grateful for this little oasis in the desert that attracts such a variety of birds. Gives me plenty of opportunities without going far from home.
