Local Heroes

Down to Newcastle today for the unveiling ceremony for my Grandma’s plaque on the ‘local heroes’ walk. This was pretty cool. The other three recipients were all still alive; the best known being Miriam Stoppard.

My mum was pretty thrilled - she was interviewed by the local BBC news, and got to give a little speech about her mum.

The plaque is pretty cool too. Although I like her Wikipedia entry better, where they replace ‘teacher’ with ‘arsonist’.
