Patterns

I went to a photographic exhibition today on the subject of patterns. Some of the photos were really good but quite a few made me think 'I have done better than that'
Afterwards we went to a Lebanese restaurant for lunch. I didn't understand what any of the things on the menu were but what I chose was OK. All the meals came with a salad which contained sticks of something that were bright fuscia pink. One of our group asked the waiter
'What vegetable is this?'
'Pickle' he replied
'No' my friend said 'what is it that has been pickled?
'Pickle' he repeated as if she were stupid.
We are still none the wiser!
