Bear Bottoms Up

What an amazing experience, brown bears in the wild from the safety of a hide. We saw 11 of them, including this mother with three 1 year old cubs, another with 3 of this year’s cubs immediately disappeared having seen a large male who had arrived in the clearing. Our guide, Cosimi, who is the chief ranger in the area around Brasov, was very careful going through the forest, by the time we got to the hide, we knew why! There are about 60 bears in his « constituency » and some have attacked and even killed people. The bears live in close proximity to parts of the town where there was a migration corridor until flats were built there till the 1970s. Now the bears are stuck!
