Head to Head

No time has been wasted in replacing our recently demised goldfish and he/she seems happy enough for now. I had to tell the usual fantasy to the girl in the pet shop about having a huge tank with an air-pump, full filtration system and containing no other fish before she'd agree to accept my £1.49 and release this one into my care. I've been there before though and didn't even argue when she insisted (as they always do) that the fish would grow to nine inches long and so would need a much bigger tank than the mythical one I'd described. Maybe she thought she was selling me a Koi carp or something but on a diet of a pinch of food flakes a day (and the odd moth) these little fishes are guaranteed to stay little fishes for the duration. And I hope it's a lengthy duration.
