Mothers Day
We had a working bee today to help the brother in law remove the last of the wires and irrigation hose from the posts he used to grow grapes on. Some of the irrigation is coiled up on the ground. There is one wire in the foreground and it was my job to walk down the row unclipping the wire from the posts. Next week the posts will be removed and the area will be clear for a veggie grower to come in and cultivate. He is planning to plant potatoes. The extra is the neighbouring properties red delicious apples. We have sampled these and they are still crisp and juicy.
When the work was finished we all went to Wakefield to buy a pie from the bakery. We sat in the reserve and had a thermos of tea and some of those apples after our pies. A different kind of Mothers Day.
