Drawing, a Manhattan, and a beautiful handwoven placemat...

I finally got around to practicing some of the techniques we are learning in Illustrated Journal class. We were given ideas for page layouts, combining words and drawings. The instructor mentioned Charles Rennie MacIntosh, an Art Nouveau artist who made beautiful botanical watercolors. I tried to balance the drawing and the text, but I had a hard time getting brilliant color. I love drawing floppy flowers. I'm happy with the page and I need to make time to do more.
