Glen Feshie

We were last up this end of Glen Feshie about 20 years ago. It was a sad sight of tired, broken, granny pines amongst close-cropped grass and heather. The regeneration accomplished by the simple reduction in deer numbers is nothing short of staggering. The glen is now luxuriant with new growth. Young Junipers, Scots Pines, Birches, Rowans all suddenly having a chance to prosper have sprung up and the Glen is reviving at a remarkable rate. Top marks to the new owner for his vision and substantial investment. The tracks are improved, the bothy is rebuilt and by far, the smartest we have seen. And above all, the wildlife is returning. This glen will be a real marker for the rest of the privately owned estates, I just hope it keeps on track.
