Light and shade, Dawson Street
We walked in towards Hodges Figgis in Dawson Street today, facing into a stiff breeze and glorious changing light. All day the interplay of sun and shade, occasional rainshowers that grew harder towards dusk. Outside Books Upstairs I stood and followed the passing buses, their blurred yellows and blues a smear of colour that grew more pleasing as the afternoon lengthened.
The light in Ireland, fleet-footed, spontaneous, elusive. A photographer's delight.
