First light on the ramsons
A busy, busy day:
Up at 5.30 a.m and in my local wood by 6 to do the fourth bird transect of the year, where I spotted this ramson bloom picked out by the early morning sun.
After breakfast, a trip to another limestone valley to hunt for a rare sedge, to no avail. A walk with some very steep hills, and it was already getting hot...
Up the road to walk round a private woodland, where I was serenaded by a cuckoo - this spring I seem to be hearing them all over the place.
Watched an impromptu flypast by a Lancaster bomber and two Spitfires, and than had a Dakota fly low over the car, but no telephoto lens to photograph them.
Home, exhausted, to write it all up!
Wonderful evening barbecue in the garden.
