Wound up in Wexford

Hanging baskets

We bought the plants to fill our hanging baskets today.  Partly at the garden sale run by the gardening club that W attended - though he has largely lapsed over the last year.  And partly from a heaving garden centre.  Everyone else had obviously had the same idea.

After lunch, we set up our stuff to do the actual planting, and it promptly started to rain.  Not hard, but enough to be a little unpleasant to work in.  But we pressed on regardless.  The original plan had been "we'll plant up the baskets, and what's left over will add a bit of annual colour to our borders".  But there wasn't anything left over!  Maybe we'll need to make another expedition to the garden centre.

We also bought some more aubretia for the oak terrace wall, and some other plants for ground cover.  Despite the drizzle, we got everything planted except the ivy for the owl stump, which we forgot until after we'd packed everything away.

The forecast isn't brilliant for tomorrow, but we hope to have a go at the pond.
