Walk in the park
After so many days of rain, I needed to get out for a walk, so I went to the park. It was almost deserted and there was no lack of parking spaces, that's for sure! It felt great to get out and stretch my legs and head down the trail. Unfortunately, I had forgotten to put some sunflower seeds in my pocket before I left home, and I figured the birds would be disappointed, but I wasn't seeing any birds anyway. Then I came to a point in the trail where a cardinal, some nuthatches, and chickadees were active and interested in what I might have to offer them. Digging deep in my pocket, I found about a tablespoon of sunflower seed, which I portioned out, a few at a time. That was all it took! Photo opps galore! This one of the greedy little nuthatch was my favorite, but they were all fun to watch. Those little birds brightened up a dreary day.
