Pentre Ifan Burial chamber
Today the weather was soooooo much better than yesterday, so we were going out to explore. We took a drive through the lanes via Abercastle on our way to Strumble head. On the way we parked up and walked up to the top of the world to take in the amazing panoramic image towards Strumble Head. Boy was it windy up there, so after several quick pics it was time to descend towards the lighthouse.
Again we braved all the back lanes towards our first goal, Strumble Head Lighthouse. It was lovely to see again after so many years although you are now not allowed over the bridge onto the island.
After that we headed to Fishguard, people have said to me that there is not much there, they were right but they do have a lovely harbour in the lower town.
After that we went in search of Pentre Ifan Burial chamber, It wasnt hard to find actually but again it was down a lot of back lanes. So that is my image today, it still amazes me how so many years ago they were able to engineer those massive stones on top of each other, and for them to stay so solid after all those years.
I wonder what delights tomorrow will bring, but first we are off to the pub, toodles.
