Day 131/18. Aldermaston Lock

The River Kennet was made navigable between Reading and Newbury in the UK and opened as the Kennet Navigation in 1723. The section running through Aldermaston Wharf (and through this lock) is a canal navigation arm with the original River Kennet continuing approx 1/2 mile south of the canal.
This chap seems intent on speed, opening both lock gate sluices fully and causing tidal waves in the lock, luckily empty of narrow boats. Hopefully when his boat goes though a more leisurely pace will ensue.
