Seaham Glass

So today we drove a bit further south, to Seaham. About 100 years ago there was a glass production company there who used the discard the offcuts into the sea. Although the factory has long since ceased trading, every day, the sea still washes up glass fragments which have been smoothed and polished by the waves over the years. They’re very collectable and there were lots of other people on the beach looking for glass too.

Ethan gave up quickly and went off to play football with Hubbie. I found it very relaxing though, sitting on the beach looking for glass pieces, with the sound of the sea washing over me. This pic is what we collected!

We then went into Newcastle for dinner. Ethan had a nosebleed in the middle of the meal. He has been prone to these for a while now but seems to be getting them more frequently now for no obvious reason.

Back to Rothbury now for our final night at The Queens Head.
