Balsamroot, Lupines and Grayce
A friend and I went up into the hills high above the Columbia river for our yearly dose of balsam root and lupines. The hills are covered with them as far as the eye can see. But it was last call. They are almost on their way out. In fact the bright red indian paint brush which look so wonderful among the yellow and blue were already gone.
On our way down we met charming Grayce who was adjusting her colorful braids and she allowed me to make some pictures of her. I think she was inspired by the abundance of wildflowers when she chose the colors for her hair -
