The Edge of the Wold

A walk in the park

Dallam Tower Estate is full of hapless, helpless, kamikaze pheasants at the moment. Expect numbers to dwindle rapidly over the next few months.

Edit: I loaded this as a blip and run before going out to a Landscape Trust event tonight on Photography in the Arnside & Silverdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There were two presentations, one by David Talbot on wildlife photography and the second by Adrian Almond on landscapes. David is a great enthusiast, very spontaneous with a portfolio of superb bird, butterfly and dragonfly photographs. His photograph of squabbling waxwings deservedly won the Landscape Trust overall photography competition in 2011. He also used to be a work colleague of Wifie's.

Adrian is very different in his approach, meticulous and detailed, a great advocate of the use of the tripod and filters. I need to take note, maybe I am just a bit slapdash, and inclined to think that a tripod slows me down too much. Lots of food for thought, and an enjoyable evening.
