Country Life
A busy day and mostly enjoyable. An appointment for a breast screening this morning in the car park of the local hospital (where the van was parked!), followed by a quick shop and then home to meet the second estate agent for an appraisal and valuation.
My goodness, she could talk for Scotland!! Very pleasant and enthusiastic and really on the ball, but quite exhausting after nearly two hours:-) One more to go on Monday and then it is decision time.
For some light relief from all things house related, we went to the Birnam Arts Centre this evening with friend L. to see a 2-person show with the strange title of "A Six Inch Layer of Topsoil and the Fact it Rains".
We weren't sure what it was all about, but it turned out to be a most entertaining evening of stories and song, collated from interviews with people in Perthshire involved with the land in some way - mainly farmers, but also land owners, migrant workers and politicians among others. It gave a very well balanced picture of the different views on subjects such as food production, farming after Brexit, land usage and sustainability of the rural way of life in the future. Very informative as well as fun!
The photo was captured quickly en route to Birnam and seemed appropriate for the evening's subject!
