Batty Evening

I went along to the ladies group that my mother belongs to this evening. They were having a talk by the local bat hospital. It was so interesting and he brought along two bats that he is licensed to keep. They can't be returned to the wild due to injury. One had a hand missing and couldn't fly properly and this one refuses to fly. This is a European Freetail bat. It is thought it came over on a cruise ship, and got so traumatised by the experience that it won't fly anymore. Maybe it will decide to fly in the future, who knows. It enjoyed feasting on the mealworms.
