North Third Water Tower

I have posted several blips from around the reservoir at North Third but never I don't think a more general view of it . This is the dam wall and the rather odd water tower construction which I am sure must serve (or served ) a useful purpose. The late afternoon sun is bringing out some of the colour in the trees on the slopes of Lewis Hill.
The walk along Lewis Hill and back along the edge of the reservoir is another in this area which is interesting in all seasons and weathers.

PS The new Bond film is excellent. The opening car chase is quite superb and Javier Bardem's villain is great. I like the way the more recent films have become harder and grittier compared to some of the silliness of Moore and Brosnan. And the opening credits are worth the admission money alone!
