Loose Chippings

All around Stevenage today we've had the Tar and Chippings Gang resurfacing various roads. There were just a few hold ups and one or two gridlocks as they held the traffic for five or ten minutes while they papered over the cracks in the road. Then Mr Plod went tearing up the road behind the Post Office Security Van and quickly found out why there was a 20mph speed limit in force. He couldn't stop in time and rearranged the bonnet of his squad car. I expect his colleagues have had a good laugh at his expense.
