MS Expedition

This is the MS Expedition at the Port of Leith. It has finished the Antarctic season and will spend the summer in the Arctic region. Starting tonight with a cruise to the Orkneys, Shetlands then onto the Norwegian coast. I had to pop down and see her .... we have history. 

In December 2015 we were booked on this ship to go to visit Antarctica (long held ambition) and, in May 2015 when the ship was in Leith I asked to go onboard ... guided tour, it was wonderful - extra photo. 

However, a week before we were due to leave the UK, they cancelled the trip as there was an engineering issue. Hugely disappointed as I'd researched loads before going and chose this ship as it was it the right size (small), the right kind of trip. 

The travel agent worked miracles and we ended up on MS Sea Explorer - longer trip, posher boat and free vino ! It was an incredible experience and Antarctica was just amazing. 

No hard feelings about MS Expedition and so a year ago, booked a trip to the Arctic for this September. I had to just see her again (even if only through the wire fence) - last time was in Ushuaia and next time we meet it will be in Svalbard.
